This shot is from July 1974 at the Rock 'n' Roll Farm in Wayne, Michigan. Bob had already played a matinee show and a late show at Cobo Hall opening for BTO and then came over to the Farm to play until 2:00 a.m.

Seger had been having P.A. problems and kept motioning to the sound man to turn up the monitors during "Let It Rock," the band's third encore. But the sound man wasn't at the board -- he was playing pinball! Bob was clearly upset. He belted out "Let It Rock" with more ferocity than I'd ever seen. He must have done ten "Let it's" at the song's climax. He also added, "Let it for Helen Reddy, Let it for Neil Sedaka, Let it for Bette Middler, Let it for the Osmond Brothers." At the close of the song, Bob kicked over the monitor and threw the mic into the wall behind the stage.

This shot was taken during the solo break in "Bo Diddley." Somehow, the shabby interior of the bar, the "Do Not Carry Drinks" sign and the girl holding her ears reminds me of "Turn the Page." The look on Bob's face says, "How long, Lord, how long?" -- K.S.
